Assistant Manager – Ashley Valley Water & Sewer Improvement District
Location: Vernal, Utah
Salary Range: $100,000 +, DOE
Employment Type: Full-Time
Ashley Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our leadership team. This position supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, administration, and strategic planning for the District, ensuring safe and reliable water and wastewater services for approximately 14,000 residents.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in managing water treatment, distribution, and wastewater collection systems.
· Oversee office administration, HR efforts, and regulatory compliance.
· Support budgeting, financial reporting, and capital improvement planning.
· Supervise staff hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
· Respond to customer inquiries and represent the District in public meetings.
· Contribute to long-term infrastructure planning and technology improvements.
Mandatory Qualifications
· 5+ years in utility management, public works, or related field.
· Knowledge of water/wastewater systems, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and HR.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and utility management software.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to respond to emergencies outside regular hours.
· Water or Sewer Operator’s Certificate (Grade III or higher)
Preferred Qualifications
· Additional Certifications in water/wastewater operations (Grade III or higher).
· Experience with public utility boards or local government.
· Familiarity with GIS, SCADA, and asset management systems.
